KPIs: what about me?

So I’ve got these KPIs and bonuses in place for the software developers in the company.

But what about me?

My job is now to bring in sales, manage costs and keep the company going.

So I’ve devised my own set of “across the business” KPIs, which I track my own performance against. Some of these are financial, some are sales-activity based (such as number of meetings, number of proposals).

Again, these are reduced to a score out of 10 – and if I get a 7 or higher, I give myself a bonus. This is either £250 or half a day off.

Unfortunately, my highest score so far is a 3. Must try harder.
